ND-ECI, ND Energy, and CCI Postdoctoral Fellowship Application Process
The Notre Dame Environmental Change Initiative (ND-ECI), the Center for Sustainable Energy at Notre Dame (ND Energy), and the Center for Civic Innovation (CCI) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program
Eligibility
- Proposed research must fall within the research areas of environment, energy, and sustainable regional systems, such as food, energy and water systems.
- Candidates must have a PhD in a relevant field before beginning their appointment and should have received their PhD within 5 years of starting the fellowship.
- Candidates must secure a commitment from a faculty member at the University of Notre Dame to serve as a mentor and also cover a minimum of 20% of the fellowship support. Assistance in identifying a mentor can be provided.
Compensation
The fellowship provides up to 80% of a competitive annual salary and benefits. There is also an annual travel allowance to present research. The fellowships are for one year, with a second year renewal based on a satisfactory progress review.
Application Information
Proposal Length: up to three pages in total (not including CV)
Each proposal must include the following items in the order listed:
- Title, applicant contact information and faculty mentor contact information.
- Description of research activity and/or question to be addressed.
- Importance, interdisciplinary, and potential impact of research activity. Please comment on why this unique opportunity is of interest to you, such as interest in community engagement or experiential learning.
- Approach and methods or other appropriate narrative to describe research activities.
- Goals and mechanisms for translational outcomes, including scholarly products, management/policy, and new proposals.
- Project activity timeline, including deliverables. Please include start and end dates and any interim dates of importance.
- Brief budget details of current funding and information on salary cost-share.
- Literature cited.
- Current curriculum vitae (CV)
