Keynote: “GE's Commitment to Carbon Neutrality by 2030 and Beyond”

Abstract

In this presentation, Lene will discuss how GE Renewable Energy takes its own medicine and pursues a very aggressive carbon neutral goal, which includes decarbonizing its own operations through eliminating waste and driving emissions and cost. She will also discuss how sustainability is a catalyst for business transformation and innovation but not to underestimate the change management and stakeholder engagement challenge. 

Biography

Lene Mi Ran Kristiansen leads GE Renewable Energy’s Sustainability programs to achieve carbon neutral operations and develop the company’s product and wider value chain sustainability strategy. She graduated from Aarhus School of Business (Denmark), with a Master in International Business Communication before joining the wind industry in 2007.  Prior to the role in GE, Lene served 10+ years in LM Wind Power’s Communications & Sustainability department, leading LM Wind Power to carbon neutral operations as the first company in the wind industry in 2018. That experience is captured in the ‘10 Steps to go Carbon Neutral’ guide, published by Lene’s team: https://www.lmwindpower.com/gocarbonneutral/. Lene’s experience combines practical knowledge and deployment of decarbonization strategies, with public affairs, media and brand communications. She serves on various external advisory boards for sustainability and carbon neutrality.
