On Saturday, September 25, 2021, ND Energy and the Office of Sustainability teamed up with the City of South Bend, Michiana Area Council of Governments, and South Shore Clean Cities to present an Electric Vehicle (EV) Expo as part of Notre Dame Energy Week and National Drive Electric Week.

Visitors were able to get behind the wheel of several EV makes and models and experience an EV ride firsthand. Dealers and local owners shared their personal experiences and discussed the many economic and environmental advantages of driving an EV. South Shore Clean Cities representatives provided details on what electric vehicles are available locally, how and where to find electric vehicle charging stations, and what incentives are available for purchasing vehicles and charging infrastructure for homes and businesses, such as the new IM Plugged-In program from Indiana Michigan Power.

All-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles on display included the following (plus a Notre Dame Smart car for photo ops!): Chevrolet Bolt, Nissan LEAF, Tesla Model S, Tesla Model Y, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Chrysler Pacifica minivan, Toyota RAV4 Prime, Toyota Prius Prime, Honda Clarity, Ford Fusion Energi, Kia Niro.
