Spirit of Football is a German non-profit organization that harnesses the passion of the game of football in education and advocacy to do good in society (#Inclusion, #Integration, #GenderEquality #Sustainability). Spirit is on a global journey with The Ball - Soccer's grassroots version of the Olympic Torch. The journey aims at tapping into the potential of sport and particularly the world's most popular game - Soccer - to stimulate debate around sustainability and climate change and to encourage climate action.

Spirit of Football's founder is former Notre Dame soccer player Andrew Aris ('00). He will be joined by Spirit of Football USA Ambassador Karli Richards ('01), Scott Stenger, and Germany Spirit of Football Ambassador Benni Grünewald. They will run a short workshop with undergraduate students that focuses on inspiring students to become even more thoughtful and respective world citizens while putting sport under the climate microscope just days before Notre Dame plays California in football on World Cleanup Day 2022.
