Energy Week: "Wasted! The Story of Food Waste" Film Screening

Wasted Blank For Invite

Energy Week will kick off with an exclusive virtual viewing of the 90-minute, informative and forward-looking documentary, Wasted! The Story of Food Waste, open to students, faculty and staff at the University of Notre Dame over a 24-hour period!

Wasted! The Story of Food Waste aims to change the way people buy, cook, recycle, and eat food. Through the eyes of chef-heroes like Anthony Bourdain, Dan Barber, Mario Batali, Massimo Bottura, and Danny Bowien, audiences will see how the world’s most influential chefs make the most of every kind of food, transforming what most people consider scraps into incredible dishes that create a more secure food system. WASTED! exposes the criminality of food waste and how it’s directly contributing to climate change and shows us how each of us can make small changes – all of them delicious – to solve one of the greatest problems of the 21st Century.

This will lead into some exciting Weigh the Waste events in the North and South Dining Halls on Tuesday, September 13, and Wednesday, September 14.

This virtual screening is limited to 300 registrants from the Notre Dame community. Access to the documentary begins Sunday, September 11 at 12:00 p.m. and runs through Monday, September 12, at 12:00 p.m. (a 24-hour viewing window).
