Academic Convocation and Honorary Degree Conferral on His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I

An Academic Convocation will be held at 5:15 p.m. in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at which University President Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C. will confer an honorary degree on His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, and the Ecumenical Patriarch will deliver an address on environmental stewardship.  The convocation will also feature the Archdiocesan Byzantine Choir performing “Creation: From Adam to Salvation,” composed and led by Georgios Theodoridis, Archon Music Instructor, in honor of His All-Holiness.

This event is free and open to members of the University community but ticketed. Seating in the Basilica is limited. To reserve a ticket, please do so here. Instructors and student organizations may request group reservations here through October 15, subject to ticket availability.  An allotment of tickets has also been provided to the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago. 

Doors to the Basilica will open at 4:00 p.m to ticketed guests.  Please be seated by 5:00 p.m. Face masks are required.
