Learning in a Time of Crisis: Stories From the University of Sagrado Corazón after Hurricane María

Puerto Rico Classes

After Hurricane Maria ravaged the island of Puerto Rico on Sept. 20, 2017, many schools and universities were closed for weeks, or even months. One of the firsts institutions to open its doors to students, faculty, and staff, was the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón. We invite you to join the panel “Learning in a Time of Crisis: Stories From the University of Sagrado Corazón after Hurricane María”, to listen to Sagrado’s story of recovery and resilience in the aftermath of disaster. The panel will feature Sagrado’s President, Gilberto Marxuach, the Director of the Ferré Rangel School of Communications, Dr. Gabriel Paizy, and the documentary filmmaker Professor Sonia Fritz.

This is a free event and open to all. Reception to follow.

This event is hosted by the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures with co-sponsorships from the Institute for Latino Studies and the Office of the Provost.
