Mark your calendars for the 25th annual Science Alive on Saturday, February 4, 2017 and join ND Energy in the 3rd floor presentation room for hands on demonstrations and experiments to learn more about energy!

St. Joseph County Public Library will celebrate 25 years of STEM during its 25th Annual Science Alive. Participants will build robots, conduct experiments, meet animals and more during this fun-filled day of free, family-friendly activities. Last year’s beautiful weather brought in over 3,200 children and their families who enjoyed over 40 exhibits, 6 stage performances, and ETHOS Science 2-Go Bus. Community organizations, schools, and businesses continued to share their love of science with children through exciting, hands-on learning experiences, working to bring SJCPL’s mission of “Learn. Discover. Experience.” to life.

Here's a look at what’s in store at this year's Science Alive:

Stage Shows:

Storm Team 16 | 10:30 a.m.
It’s amazing how meteorologists track the ever changing weather conditions. Discover the way a weather forecast is created by using science and art with guests from StormTeam 16.

Silly Safari | 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
He’s Back! Amazon John of Silly Safaris, Inc. returns with his animal pals to Science Alive. Meet an assortment of exotic animals as well as some furry new friends.

Third Coast Percussion | 1:30 p.m.
Learn about the scientific and musical properties of sound waves (amplitude/dynamics, frequency/pitch, etc.) by participating in interactive activities with this exciting and engaging group of artists.

Getting Excited About Science | 3:00 p.m.
Observe dramatic demonstrations, presented with humor, music, and audience participation, when Steve Belliveau brings many basic science concepts to life.
