CISTAR RET 2023

Research Experience for Teachers at Notre Dame
June 12 - July 21 (Summer 2023)

The Research Experience for Teachers (RET) Program at the University of Notre Dame will be held over a six-week period from June 12 – July 21, 2023 on Notre Dame’s campus. Four educators will be selected and paired with Notre Dame researchers in the Center for Innovative and Strategic Transformation of Alkane Resources (CISTAR).

Each teacher will receive a $7,500 stipend and a $1,500 allowance for classroom supplies to implement the lesson developed during the program into their classroom and curriculum. Other program activities will include developing curricular enrichments related to energy and engineering and exchanging ideas with other educators in the program. The research experience will be tailored specifically to the participant’s background as much as possible and will likely involve bench and computational chemistry.

The RET Program is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Educators who are currently teaching STEM topics in an accredited high school or 2-year college are encouraged to apply. This opportunity will be of most benefit to those who teach chemistry, engineering, math, or computer science.

Applications will be accepted until February 15, 2023. Participants will be notified shortly after. To apply, click on the RET Application link below.
