Joan F. Brennecke, Energy Center Director, stands atop this 90 meter (296 feet) tall wind turbine, owned and operated by Firstwind http://www.firstwind.com/. The wind farm is located in Maui, Hawaii and consists of 20 wind turbines, each capable of 1.5 MW. Firstwind currently supplies about 8% of the electricity for Maui.
