Please join ND Energy for the Seventh Annual ND Energy Research Symposium, a daylong event that brings together faculty, research associates, students, sustainability professionals, and energy-interested individuals from diverse disciplines and multiple areas to share their expertise and participate in discussions on some of the most critical energy challenges facing the world today. This year, we are delighted to welcome leaders from other regional energy centers and institutes, as well as our own communications experts at Notre Dame for a special session on driving change through strategic communications and translating research in sustainable energy. 

This event is free and open to the Notre Dame community and invited guests.

Symposium Schedule
8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

*All attendees will participate in the panel discussion and explore specific topics, including those cited below, while sharing their personal insights and recommendations for future actions and improvements. We look forward to your participation in this interactive exchange of best practices and lessons learned. 

• Collaborative Communications: How can centers/institutes communicate with each other in a more collaborative way to demonstrate major advancements in energy research and education to industries, government, and the general community?
• Community Knowledge and Understanding: What can centers/institutes do collaboratively to increase the knowledge and understanding of tax payers on the global energy challenges and what is being done to address the issues?
• Methods of Gaining Attention: What methodologies can centers/institutes employ to gain more attention from local, national, and global news media on advancements in research and other sustainable energy practices?
• Government Support and Resources: What resources do centers/institutes have in Washington D.C., local communities, city governments, and state capitols to better communicate with the general public, internal and external constituents, and elected officials?
• Influencing Change: How can centers/institutes influence changes in policies and regulations, research and development, STEM education, and workforce development through local, state, national, and global communications?
