External Slatt Applicants

2019 Ugs SympProf. Yamil Colon (c) with Norbert Ramos (l) and Erick Mendez (r), students from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.

The Vincent P. Slatt Fellowships for Undergraduate Research in Energy Systems and Processes provide opportunities for undergraduate students from select universities (e.g., Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Spelman College, University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, and Xavier University of Louisiana) to conduct energy-related research with ND Energy affiliated faculty during the summer at the University of Notre Dame. Students will participate in cutting-edge research programs, as well as professional development and social activities, while enjoying the beautiful campus of Notre Dame.

Approximately 3 awards of $5,000 per student are made annually to external applicants. Awards are paid to the student as a stipend and may be used to assist with travel, housing, meals, and other related expenses. The Slatt summer research experience is a 10-week program beginning in mid-May through the end of July. Students who are currently sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply.
