Research

Prof. Colón's research focuses on the computational discovery and design of materials for energy applications. The Colón group uses computational techniques to quickly and accurately predict the performance of materials, sifting through thousands of candidates to identify top performers. The group then models the self-assembly of these materials to identify possible pathways for their experimental realization. Prof. Colón's research interests include applications for: water farming, humidity control, ion transport, carbon capture and sequestration, hydrogen storage, and gas separations.
