Research

Lisouskaya’s key project is devoted to complex research related to radiation chemistry and the study of nuclear reactor water under high temperatures and pressures. This research explores kinetics and mechanisms of radical reactions at high temperatures and pulse radiolysis studies of hyper-reduced metal ions in order to improve the safety and reliability of nuclear power generation. Lisouskaya’s group also conducting research using the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopic method to characterize radicals derived from compounds that have applications ranging from those relevant to the nuclear power industry to photochemistry of importance in biology and medicine. Recent research is related to study the radiolytic stability of organic ligands used in the separation systems in the nuclear waste reprocessing.
