Virtual Film Screening 2040 Documentary
Energy Week will kick off with an exclusive virtual viewing of the 90-minute, informative and forward-looking documentary, 2040, open to students, faculty and staff at the University of Notre Dame over a 24-hour period!
In this documentary, the film crew circles the globe under the guidance of award-winning director Damon Gameau, looking for the best solutions already being enacted to fight climate change. This hopeful vision of what the world could be like in the year 2040 relies on an awareness of challenges in energy, agriculture, the oceans, economics, and human rights. The supposition is that we are “renting” the earth from future generations, and we must act now to choose the better path. You can be a part of the Regeneration Movement!
Starting Monday, August 17, at 12:00 p.m., tickets will be available to the first 100 members of the Notre Dame community. Only 1 ticket per reservation is allowed.
Students attending this event will earn a chance to win $20 in Domer Dollars at the end of Energy Week. Details will be announced at the beginning of the program.
2040 will be available to ticket-holders during a 24-hour period from 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, to 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 24.
We encourage classes, student clubs, departments, and other groups on campus to set aside time to discuss the film after everyone has had a chance to view it.
