Faculty are invited to apply for two programs within the Notre Dame Research Internal Grants Program. The deadline to apply to the available grants is Friday, April 9, 2021 by 5:00 p.m. EST.

“Given the impact of the ongoing pandemic, we are not currently able to offer our full suite of internal grants. However, gratefully, we do have funding available to support urgent needs that ensure the continuity and integrity of our programs of research and scholarship,” said Robert J. Bernhard, Vice President for Research and professor of aerospace and mechanical engineering. “In addition to the ongoing Resilience and Recovery Grant Program, which is still open of applications, we will accept applications for two programs for which we have heard there is the most urgent need.” 

There are two grant programs accepting applications:

• The Equipment Restoration and Renewal Program assists in the restoration, replacement, and renewal of the facilities needed for faculty research, scholarship, and creative endeavor. Proposals that complement current or recent efforts to secure equipment funding from external sources are encouraged. For the 2021 application period, these grants must be used for pressing, time-sensitive needs only.
• The Faculty Research Support Program - Initiation Grant provides seed funding to established faculty initiating new programs of research, scholarship, or creative endeavor and new faculty beginning their research programs.

All other grant programs are currently on hiatus.
