Department of Defense Research Opportunities: Engagement Best Practices Webinar

Dod

Presented by Vice Admiral Mathias W. "Mat" Winter, United States Navy (retired 2019), and moderated by Jill Pentimonti, Director of Research Advancement, Office of Federal & Washington Relations, this webinar provides an overview of the Department of Defense's (DoD) Science and Technology research organizations, research area priorities, budgeting process, and top-level annual summary of Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOA). Vice Admiral Winter will discuss best practices on how to engage with the DoD, appropriate entry points, relationship building and how to cut through the bureaucracy to better understand the DoD’s requirements and funding priorities. Finally, recommendations on white paper and proposal writing will be offered to increase the likelihood of a successful FOA award.

Duration: 60 minutes with Q&A at the end.

Target Audience: Notre Dame faculty, students, and staff interested in pursuing DoD research opportunities with a focus on those with minimal experience dealing with the DoD. However, even those with solid DoD research experience should find the discussion a good refresher as well as best practices and updated entry points of contact information beneficial.

Registration:  Please RSVP and a
Google Calendar invite, containing all webinar information, will be sent to you prior to the event date.
