Join filmmaker Sonia Fritz, for a screening of her new documentary, “Después de María, las 2 orillas” (After María – the 2 shores), which describes how communities and families in Puerto Rico and diaspora in Orlando, Florida dealt with the aftermath of Hurricane María. The film focuses on two angles: how community leaders empowered their communities to deal with the disaster, and how families who migrated to the US have helped in the reconstruction of Puerto Rico.
A Q&A with Sonia Fritz will follow the screening.
This is a free event and open to all.
This event is hosted by the Department of Romance Languages and Literature with co-sponsorship from the Institute of Latino Studies and the Office of the Provost.
