Johnny Auestad was Senior Advisor to the Norwegian Government's Pollution Control Authority and has worked extensively on the development of environmental regulations for the emerging oil and gas industry in Uganda.  Auestad has also worked on the development of environmental regulations in in Mozambique and Sudan. He will be speaking about the opportunities and challenges involved for western countries attempting to promote sustainable development in a context that includes extractivist industries. All are invited to this special meeting of Professor Julia Thomas' class Green Japan. A light lunch will be served beginning at noon.
