Got Married, Bought Solar: Which Was the Bad Decision?

George Howard
Prof. George Howard

What do getting married and buying solar panels have in common? Among other things, they are both difficult decisions when done for the first time. They are high risk, involve significant investment, and it may take a lifetime to determine if the decision was a good one.

Join us on Monday, November 14 at 7 pm in Geddes Hall Auditorium as George S. Howard, PhD, professor emeritus in Notre Dame’s Department of Psychology, explores the complexities of convincing ourselves to invest in solar as individuals and as a society. By asking the right questions and understanding the options, a fraught decision can be made less so. The author of many books and articles that investigate ecological psychology, Howard also has hands-on business experience through his interaction with Inovateus Solar.

In addition to serving in the psychology department, Howard’s credentials have also included Faculty Fellow for the Reilly Center for Science, Technology, and Values, the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, and the Institute for Educational Initiatives. He is the author of over 200 publications, including The Greening of Business: Solar as the Bridge to our Hydrogen Electricity Future and Stan Ovshinsky and the Hydrogen Economy: Creating a Better World.
