Sunday, October 4 – Thursday, October 8

Save the date and mark your calendars for the ninth annual Notre Dame Energy Week managed by ND Energy’s Student Energy Board and co-sponsored with GreeND.

Sunday will kick off the week with Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart celebrating Pope Francis' most recent encyclical, "On Care for our Common Home". On Sunday evening we will have a film screening of "Catching the Sun" in the Geddes Hall Auditorium at 5:00 pm.

On Monday, stop by the South Quad near Fitzpatrick and Cushing Hall between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm for our Quad Display.  Companies, student organizations, and other Notre Dame representatives connected with energy and sustainability will be there showing you ways to get involved in the future of energy.  Monday evening, we look forward to hosting a mix of companies for presentations about careers in energy fields and time for networking in the Mendoza College of Business Jordan Auditorium at 6:00 pm.

Tuesday, we are pleased to welcome author, Gwyneth Cravens, as she presents a lecture titled: "Can We Save the World with Nuclear Energy?", in Washington Hall Auditorium at 4:00 pm.  Join us on Tuesday evening for a movie screening titled: "Overburden: Two Women and the Mountain between Them" in DeBartolo Hall 101 at 7:00 pm.

Wednesday is shaping up with a research poster session, where Notre Dame researchers will discuss their energy-related research projects in the Jordan Hall of Science Galleria at 3:00 pm. The ever popular Power Plant tours will be on Wednesday and Thursday at 11:00 am and 12:00 pm.  Reservations are required.

Thursday evening will be our forum on U.S. Energy Policy in the Washington Hall Auditorium at 7:00 pm. We have asked speakers to address the following questions: Should the United States have an energy policy and if so, at what level should we have the policy and what should it address? What would be the consequences/benefits of such a policy?
