Doping in Organic Films: From Concepts to Applications

Controlling the electronic properties of organic films by chemical doping has recently become an active research topic. Dr. Yabing Qi, Postdoctoral Research Fellow from Princeton University will start with motivations for doping organic films and basic doping mechanisms. Effectiveness and stability are two major aspects of doping, which will be illustrated by two case studies (one p-type doping and one n-type doping). Then two examples will be given to demonstrate the applications of doping: (1) Remote doping and modulation; (2) Reduction in contact resistance in organic field effect transistors. He will talk about research plans with focus on nanostructured organic-inorganic hybrid solar cells.
