
The Notre Dame-Purdue Symposium on Soft Matter & Polymers will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Notre Dame (Hesburgh Library and McCourtney Hall), from 9:00 am - 5:30 pm.
This one-day symposium focuses on the general synthesis and characterization of synthetic soft materials as well as their broad application. We are pleased this year to be joined by a delegation from the Chinese Chemical Society Polymer Division, who will be visiting Notre Dame in advance of the Fall 2026 ACS meeting in Chicago.
The day will include both technical sessions with talks from faculty, as well as an afternoon poster session featuring the work of graduate students and postdocs (with many poster prizes awarded). The full agenda and roster of speakers will be posted soon.

In addition to the day's technical sessions, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are invited to showcase their research results in the afternoon poster session, with awards given for the best posters. Please forward this call for posters to graduate students and postdocs who may be interested in presenting a related poster. Poster presenters can note their intention to present at the registration link provided above to register both their attendance and poster. Please register posters by August 12, 2026.
