Chris Tindal, former Director for Operational Energy working for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, recently joined the Advanced Biofuels USA board of directors. Advanced Biofuels USA, an educational nonprofit dedicated to the understanding, development and use of advanced biofuels, welcomes Tindal with his extensive understanding of military use of biofuels, especially of the Navy's Great Green Fleet program.
Tindal has extraordinary experiences from his work with the U.S. Navy, setting energy policy and promoting the adoption of alternative fuels and renewable energy resources.
A Navy man for over 40 years, Tindal retired as a Captain in the Navy Reserves in 2010 and continues to pursue his career as a Professional Engineer and a Certified Energy Manager and teaches as an Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Tropical Crops and Biocommodities at Queensland University of Technology.
Well-respected in the international biofuels community, Tindal has been named in the peer-selected competition for the "Top 100 People in the Bioeconomy" Awards by the Biofuels Digest from 2013 through 2017.
