Attention All Green Fashion Show Designers:

Please email Meehan (mlenzen@nd.edu) by the end of this week (Friday November 12) if you are interested in designing for the 2010 Green Fashion Show.  We need to start a email list of all the designers as a more efficient means of passing along information! Please see below for the guidelines:

GreeND will hold it's 3rd annual Green Fashion Show on Wednesday December 1st in the LaFortune Ballroom and we are looking for eco-friendly designers to showcase sustainable creations! This year we are doing things a little differently...Project Runway style!

There will be a $5 participation fee for designers which will allow you to enter as few or as many outfits into the show as you choose. The audience will vote on the best outfit in three categories:

1. Outfits made from recycled materials only (aka pop bottles, newspaper, etc)

2. Outfits made using both recycled materials and reused clothing from consignment stores

3. Outfits made using only reused clothing from consignment stores (can be altered)

The designers of the 3 winning outfits will each receive a $50 cash prize and the opportunity to publicly display their garment on campus!!  Designers may either provide a model or request that we provide a model to wear their garment at the show.

Proceeds this year are going to the Catholic Relief Services to help prevent further conflict in Sudan, much of which has roots in environmental issues. We are encouraging the designers this year to incorporate the colors of the Sudanese flag (black, white, red, green) into their clothing designs, if they wish.
